We’ll climb Bogd Khan Mountain at a leisurely pace, through a forest of pine trees, moss and lichen covered boulders, with our sights set on Tsetsee Gun Peak, one of the highest peaks in the area.
DESTINATIONS
With a history more than 300 years old, Bogd Khan is a place known for its sacred mountains and rock carvings, for having more than 200 plant varieties, and as a place where animals such as bear, fox, hare, wolf, squirrel, eagles, woodpeckers and deer all call home.
Once we reach Bogd Khan Mountain, we’ll take our time first exploring Manjushir Monastery (51.5 km from UB), an 18th century monastery complex that was once home to more than 20 temples and some 300 monks in the southern part of the reserve.
